She then walked away saying that we were uneducated and that would be what uneducated people would do. She was really rude, and then I said that if this was the case seh would have no objections to me posting a picture of the pieces on Tripadvisor. I told her that we love sushi and eat sushi every week she replied that she had eaten sushi for 48 years. Then it got ugly, an Asian women turned up and started to ramble about that it was due to the fact that the tuna was cut from a piece which had two colours, but this would not explain for the smell and the dryness. It was discoloured, dry and smelled of fish – a no no when eating sushi, the whitefish was not cut so the brown was removed and also smelled of fish When the very sweet waiter came to ask of everything was ok, I told her that I would like to have her show those two to the chef and ask if he would want to eat those. My husband ordered Sashimi and those were good as well, then my sushi plate arrived, at first sight it looked good, but then I looked closer to my tuna. I had an excellent miso soup and my husband had a really good Avocado salad. We loved the outside seating arrangement, the white tablecloth and all the charm. I really wanted to like this place, and at first we did. I would not go to this place ever again! There are too many good places to go nearby, and this is just not one of them. When getting our check, there was a tip added to our bill already! We only had 2 people and there was no sign anywhere in the restaurant about tips being automatically added! I mean, if I were informed about an automatical tip, I am OK with it, but not telling me ahead of time is a totally different story. The waitress made no attempt to correct this problem. I asked for no wasabi for my sushi, but only noticed that the request was totally ignored when I got my food. Not sure if it was because they were too busy during dinner hours, but hey, the other Key West restaurants are busy too and yet have better service! It took forever to get our drinks and food ordered. Most importantly, the sashimi were NOT fresh! I live in the midwest and must say that my local restaurant serves better sashimi and sushi then this one in Key West! The service was bad as well. We went there the first night because I wanted some seafood (sashimi) and thought Japanese would be a good choice.
